About Jessica Hagan

Jessica Hagan is the founder of Urban Healers of LA.com where she blogs weekly about all topics involving the healing arts.  She also built and manages the sanfordmeisnermasterclass.com website about high-quality acting training. 

She has written seven screenplays on spec and two drafts of a science fiction novel.  Jessica Hagan has over a decade of experience in the Los Angeles film industry collaborating on projects ranging from fiction to documentary.     She has been a ghostwriter for numerous independent filmmakers and a staff writer for various film production companies.  Jessica has been actively involved in writing room critiques since 2002 with the LA Writers group and the LA Writer’s Lab where she submits, reads, and critiques original fiction and non-fiction work.  

Her interest in the power of writing fiction and nonfiction comes from a deep love of humanity and a desire to make lasting connections.   She is passionate about providing compelling copy with high stakes and life-affirming messages.

EXPERIENCE

WRITER/ACTOR- BOLD NATIVE- GATHER FILMS, LA, CA 2006
Jessica Hagan worked as a writer and an actor for the independent feature film about animal rights activists fighting for change in US farm practices.  This film toured national and international festivals for two years and has an underground following.

WRITER- MIDDLE OF NOWHERE- GATHER FILMS, LA CA  — 2003-2005
Jessica Hagan wrote and acted in an independently produced feature film.  This was a collaboration with a devoted cast and crew that spanned two years of production.  It is a mystery action-adventure story that was selected for the Mount Rainier Film festival in 2005

Writer, This Vicious Minute- Gather Films, LA CA — 2001

Jessica Hagan wrote and acted in a short film about the moment between life and death and a soul’s choice to live or die.  Premiere Screening at the Indianapolis film festival.

PRODUCER- Rock the bells Documentary, Gather Films, LA CA 2004

Jessica’s production company, Gather Films was invited by music promotor, Guerilla Union to film the historical musical event of the Wu-Tang Clan’s last concert with ODB.  She and her colleagues edited over 22 hours of footage of the all-day music festival.  This documentary was an audience favorite at the Tribeca Film festival in 2004.  It went on to tour major festivals all over the world.

Editor- Sanford Meisner Master Class DVD, LA, CA — 2007- present

In 2007 Jessica Hagan was asked to digitize and edit archival footage shot on beta tapes by Sydney Pollack of the famous acting instructor Sanford Meisner teaching students in 1979. Jessica transferred the media to Final Cut Pro and edited over 50 hours of footage into a two-part acting instructional DVD which she currently distributes for the Sanford Meisner estate.

With Gather Films Jessica Hagan, directed, edited, and produced an instructional DVD with energy healer, Cyndi Dale which she distributed via Amazon for CyndiDale.com.
